Lesson Transcript

Hi everyone! שָׁלוֹם (shalom)
my name is Yaara, and this is Hebrew weekly words. So I actually don’t know what this week’s theme is. So let’s find out together. This week’s theme is Hobbies.
(taħbivim)
What are your hobbies?
(le’saħek shaħmat)
“To play chess”.
“When I was in Elementary school, we actually had a chess lesson.”
(kshe-ani hayiti be-beit ha-sefer ha-yesodi, haya li shi-ur shaħmat.)
yeah. That didn’t go very well for me - I never won.
(le’esof bulim)
“To collect stamps”.
“My father had a stamp collection.”
(aba sheli asaf bulim.)
Then he gave me the collection and I obviously lost it.
(liglosh ba-internet)
“To surf the net”.
Is that a hobby? It’s more like a way of life, I would say.
“You surf the net too much!”
(ata golesh ba-internet yoter midai!)
(le’saħek poker)
“To play poker”.
Okay, the next hobbie is “to play poker”, and this is a common hobby in Israel.
“I went over to a friend of mine to play poker.”
(halakhti le-ħaver sheli le’saħek poker.)
I actually never played poker. I don’t even know how to do that.
(tzilum)
“Photography”.
“I always wanted to take a photography class.”
(Tamid ratziti la’lekhet le-ħug tzilum.)
I never did that though, I’m kinda lazy.
And this is the end. So thank you so much for watching Hebrew weekly words. Don’t forget to check our site, and I will see you next week. Bye, להתראות (le’hitra’ot)!
I feel I lost my personality.
