So “mail” is

Literally means “I'm going to the mail” but also means “I’m going to the post office).
(ani holekhet la'doar.)
2.
דוור
(davar) “mailman”
For a woman
(davarit) “mailwoman)
דוור
(davar) “mailman” is a funny word because it sounds like the word for a thing
(davar)
It’s not spelled the same but it sounds exactly the same.
(ha'kelev sheli nashakh et ha'davar.)
“My dog bit the mailman.”
3.
(ktovet) “address”
(slikha, ma ha'ktovet shelakh?)
“Excuse me, what is your address?”
Definitely an invasive question.
4.
(mikh'tav) “letter”
(kibalti mikhtav mi'yapan.)
“I got a letter from Japan.”
I wonder who wrote it?
5.
(ma-atafa) “envelope”
(al tishkekhi lisgor et ha'ma-atafa.)
“Don't forget to close the envelope.”
You don’t want the letter to fall out, do you?
So that’s it. Thank you so much for watching. Now go write a letter and send it to someone. I’m sure it will make them very happy. So leave us a comment below and don’t forget to check out the site, and see you next time on Hebrew Weekly Words. Bye!
