Yaara: Hi everyone, I am Yaara and this is Hebrew words! and today’s theme is colors - צבעים (tzva’im). Let’s start.
חום
(ħum)
“brown”
Okay, brown is a nice warm color.
“My eyes are brown.”
העיניים שלי חומות.
(ha-enaim sheli ħumot.)
אפור
(afor)
“gray”
There is the song in Hebrew, “The gray today is very gray”.
האפור היום אפור מאוד.
(ha-afor hayom afor me'od.)
It’s poetic. This is why I like it.
אדום
(adom)
“red”
אני לא יכולה לסבול יין אדום.
(ani lo yekhola lisbol yain adom.)
“I can’t stand red wine.” I can’t even stand the smell. It’s a true story.
צהוב
(tza'hov)
“yellow”
.חמניות הן צהובות
(ħamanyot hen tze'hubot.)
“Sunflowers are yellow.”
ירוק
(yarok)
“green”
.לאימא שלי יש עיניים ירוקות
(le-ima sheli yesh enaim yerukot.)
“My mother has green eyes”. Unfortunately it stayed there, so... thanks, dad.
