Hi, everyone! Welcome to Hebrew Weekly Words. My name is Yaara, and this week we’re going to talk about “Geography” |
(geografya). |
1. |
(agam) means “lake,” and it became quite popular name for girls in the last few years. So walking in Israel, you can hear sometimes people calling their daughters |
(agam) because it’s still quite new. |
(ani holekhet liskhot ba'agam.) |
“I’m going to swim in the lake.” |
This you will not hear very often in Israel because we don’t really have that many lakes. We have one famous lake called |
(kineret), and that’s pretty much it. |
2. |
(okyanus) “ocean” |
(ani kol kakh tsme-ah, ani yekhola lishtot okyanus shalem.) |
“I’m so thirsty, I can drink an entire ocean.” |
3. |
הר |
(har) “mountain” |
(ba'khoref, har khermon mitmale be'sheleg.) |
“In the winter, Hermon Mountain gets full of snow.” |
No. |
4. |
(midbar) “desert” |
(haitem pa-am be'midbar yehuda?) |
“Have you ever been to the Judaean Desert?” |
You should, it’s beautiful. |
5. |
(nahar) “river” |
(ha'nahar ha'ahuv alai hu ha'yarden. ) |
“My favorite river is the Jordan River.” |
Okay, this is the end. Today, we talked about Geography. If you’re missing anything important, write to us in the comments below and don’t forget to check out the site. See you next time! |
