Dear Eugenia,
Thank you for commenting on this lesson and posting your question!
The words "מעט" and "קצת" are basically synonyms, and can be used interchangeably in most contexts. The term "קצת" is more commonly used in modern Hebrew.
I hope that helps 👍😄

In the Absolute Beginner series קצת (k'tzat) was translated as "a little" (like in "I'll have a little beer"), and it this lesson it is translated as "some", while מעט (me'at) is rendered "a little".
Please clarify the difference between k'tzat and me'at.

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for commenting!
As you wrote, T can be represented by two letters - ט or ת. However, there's no trick you can use to know which one should be used without knowing many words first.
With your name - itd written סטפן, as usually foreign words to Hebrew are written with a ט, but of course there are exceptions. (:
Happy to help,
Yours,
Roi

very helpful-such clear answers! Thank you. Yaara.
Hi Shelley Lynn,
The place of the word "me'at" in a sentence depend on its meaning: if it describes quantity it will always come before the object it refers to, like so:
במסיבה היו מעט אנשים (there were only a few people at the party)
When it describes a verb, it will follow it, like so:
ישנתי מעט לפני העבודה (I slept a little before work)
When it describes an adjective, it can come either before or after it, like so:
היא הייתה מעט עייפה (she was a little tired)
השיעור היה ארוך מעט (the lesson was a little long)
I hope this answer is helpful.
Sincerely,
Yaara

Thank you, Yaara. Am I able to place "maat", a little, before and after the noun equally or is one more common?

I wouldn't expect anyone to be speaking fluently or even very well by lesson five, c'mon folks be realistic.
Why do you have a different speaker in this than for all the other lessons, didn't like him at all too bombastic.
Hi Arash,
Sorry, what did you mean to say?
I could not understand....
